Shane Anderson
Dr. Shane Anderson joined the faculty of Austin Community College in August 2019 as Associate Professor of Piano. He has served as the pianist for the Corpus Christi Symphony and Victoria (TX) Symphony Orchestras and been a collaborative artist in hundreds of performances throughout his career in Texas and Louisiana. Under Dr. Anderson's leadership in 2015-19, the Music Department at Nicholls State University experienced significant growth in number of students, faculty and facilities. Dr. Anderson also taught piano and theory with the Texas A&M University System for 16 years. Dr. Anderson recently taught and performed contemporary piano music for the Yamaha Music School in Jakarta, Bandung and Bali, Indonesia. He has a particular interest in incorporating technology into music education and was among the first in the United States to teach Class Piano fully online. He also has an interest in liturgical music and has served the dioceses of Corpus Christi and Houma/Thibodaux (LA) as an organist, pianist, and music director. Dr. Anderson is certified with Quality Matters in online education and as an Apple Teacher with Swift Playgrounds recognition.
